The Library Corner

May is the month that we honor our mothers for what they mean in our lives.  It can also be a time for mothers to reflect on the role they play in their children's lives.  The following books in the library can help mothers to strengthen that role:

  • The Heart of a Mother by Holmes

  • Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tripp

The Gathering

If you are a first half adult, the 9:30 leadership team is announcing something new just for you. We are calling it The GATHERING! The GATHERING is a time of fellowship, food, conversation, and good bold or medium Common Ground coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the multi-purpose center (MPC) beginning at 9:15am every Sunday morning.  From 9:15-9:40am 1st-half adults can gather before Bible study in a "coffee-house" atmosphere to catch up with friends and to make new connections with other first half adults. It doesn't matter if you are married or single, 19 or 49, or whether you prefer a traditional type class setting or a discussion group format.  Everyone from 19-49 who prefers the smooth service at 10:45am is welcome to The GATHERING. Speaking of adult Bible study options at 9:40am, there is something new happening there as well:  round-table host groups beginning this Sunday!  Adults who prefer small (6-10) discussion groups with round tables will meet at 9:40am in the MPC.

So if you have not yet connected in Bible Study, try The GATHERING Sunday at 9:15am in the MPC.

West Austin Care Givers

Hillcrest Baptist Church is pleased to announce that we have joined a 16-church coalition called West Austin Caregivers.  This coalition was formed to provide various services to our senior members (60+).

Some of the services offered are...

      pick-up prescriptions;
      minor home repairs;
      home and telephone visits; and

  • referrals to community resources and services.

We are very excited to be offering this program.  You will be hearing a great deal more in the months to come.  If you have questions, would like to become a client, or would like to volunteer please call Jeanie Teel or Sue Stanford of the West Austin Caregivers office at 472-6339.

eGiving Now Available

Automatic Bank Draft
(eGiving) Available!

We are excited to offer a convenient way of giving consistently: eGiving.  eGiving is a bank drafting method that will allow you to make contributions in an efficient, automated manner without checks or forgotten envelopes. Here is how it works:  Simply print this authorization form.*  Then...

  • Fill in the basic personal and banking information requested.  You can be assured that all personal and banking information is completely secure and strictly confidential.
      Determine the frequency and amount of your tithes and offerings.  Gifts can either be monthly or bi-monthly.  The contribution amount and timing can be changed or adjusted at any time by filling out another form.  All gifts will be included on your yearly contribution statements.  It is important to note that all eGiving contributions will be considered gifts to the operating budget.  Any designated gifts should continue to be given in check form directly to the church, either by mail or in the Sunday offering.

  • Return the form to the church office.

If you would like to know more, click here to read the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions.* Still have questions?  Contact Karen (email) or Betty (email) in the church office (345-3771).  We thank you for your continued support, as we hope you will prayerfully consider using eGiving.
